Scenario 2: Your Car is at a Tow Yard
If your car was towed to a storage lot (like Mitchell’s, Mundie’s, or Buster’s) overnight, ICBC will often ask you to move it to a repair shop as soon as possible to avoid accumulating unnecessary costs on the claim.
- Call Us First: Let us know the vehicle location and your claim number.
- Release the Vehicle: Call the tow yard and authorize them to release the vehicle to Midvan Collision.
- We Handle the Logistics: We can help coordinate with the tow company to bring the vehicle to our shop so the estimate can begin.

FAQ for Tow-Ins
Q: Do I have to pay for the tow?
A: In most cases with a valid ICBC claim, no. ICBC covers the cost of towing the vehicle from the scene (or the tow yard) to the repair facility. We handle the direct payment to the tow company on your behalf.
Q: My airbags deployed. Can you still fix it?
A: Yes. We specialize in heavy collision repair. Airbag deployment does not automatically mean the car is a "write-off." We will inspect the structural damage and safety systems to determine if it is repairable.
Q: What if the car turns out to be a Total Loss (Write-Off)?
A: If we inspect the vehicle and ICBC determines it is a total loss, it is still better for the car to be at our shop. We can help you retrieve your personal belongings easily, rather than you having to fight to get into a locked tow yard.
